| Our client is looking for a Database Applications Development Manager who will contribute to the design and development of key components of its product. The individual will contribute to the full life cycle of product development through design, development, configuration and maintenance of modules. The Database Applications Development Manager will be responsible for all aspects of requirement analysis, database logical/physical design, application development using PL/SQL in 9i/10g, and performance tuning of the applications. The candidate should have good leadership skills and should be adept in scheduling, load balancing, prioritizing tasks and deliverables for critical software checkpoints and milestones. The candidate should foster team cohesiveness and cooperation with cross-functional groups throughout the company. This position is located in Noida, India and the software development manager will be primarily working with Product Management, Customer Support, and Development leads in Noida India and San Mateo, California to design and develop the database applications for the product. The key responsibilities for the position include: Provide day-to-day project leadership across functional teams in support of development cycles Coordinate with project management and development leads to ensure a consistently high quality of software deliverables on time Review Requirement Specification Documents and develop a comprehensive understanding of user requirements Write and/or communicate high level design specifications for the components. Active participation in all phase review meetings with the development and business teams Develop a deep understanding of the product and PLC process Hire, lead, motivate, mentor, train and retain talented team members Lead integration, performance and load testing of the solution implementation Review software designs, design and code reviews and documentation activities Create technical documents to support the QA and implementation process Own and direct the creation, review and understanding of system architecture with development team Provide clear communication between technical and non technical stakeholders Prepare status reports routinely for cross functional teams and communicate issues/resolutions with other development managers Escalate issues and prepare change requests as needed Solid schedule and project management skills Mandatory Skills/Experience: BE in Computer Science or equivalent At least 10 years of database application development experience Strong experience in taking functional specifications and transforming to technical design Experience in managing multiple delivery teams in an enterprise development environment In-depth knowledge of logical/physical database design and strong development experience in Oracle PL/SQL and Oracle utilities Extensive experience on tuning large databases and 3rd party applications Extensive experience in writing Oracle procedures, functions, packages and triggers Good knowledge of SQL*Loader and XML Experience with Unix/Linux Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Project Excellent oral/written communication skills Detail oriented, strong analytical skills and resourceful in issue resolution Be comfortable with fast paced schedule driven product cycles Be a driven team player who is self-motivated, independent and proactive leader Desirable Skills/Experience Shell scripting expertise Experience in performance testing and usability |
