| Position: Operations Manager Location: Mumbai Overview: Responsibility is to be accountable for providing infrastructure and technology support to all Yahoo establishments in India, manage and mentor a site operations, Network (Corporate and Production) and systems team. To work very closely with internal clients such as Yahoo mail, service engineering etc. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, along with the ability to multitask in order to facilitate the resolution of multiple incidents at any given time. The candidate will be responsible for smooth operation of critical infrastructure and property of Yahoo. The candidate will also drive the carrier and provider relationships. Qualifications: BE/BS or higher in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience Experience: 10 Yrs experience as a of industry experience where at least 3-4 years are as a manager Hours This position has 24x7 responsibility and interruptions during personal time can be expected. Normal working will be 10:00 AM to 6:00PM Required Skills: * Having worked in a similar environment where its needed to interact with various service providers on daily basis and has ability to drive sensitive relationship with providers * Having a good understanding of India network landscape. * Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously. * Strong Linux/Free BSD skills. * Very strong knowledge of all IP-based protocols * Very strong knowledge of current networking systems including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, data circuits, content-aware load-balancers, Security ACLs, Adoptive routing etc * Strong understanding of security policy, procedures, architecture and standards design * High degree of familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; ability to configure DNS, Unix and Windows host * Familiarity with current two and three tier website architectures, including, load balancing and failover concepts for web servers, application servers, and database servers. * Ability to troubleshoot and make clear process of structured troubleshooting methods. * Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Foundry, F5 products. |
