| Position: Principal Engineer Experience : 12Yrs+ Location : Bangalore(India) Nationality : Indian Primary Responsibilities: Architects have a passion to create software products which exceed our customers expectations. They are responsible for the overall quality of one or more coherent bodies of technology (architectures) created and maintained by a team of engineers and providing overall technical leadership to that team. We define quality as the degree to which the technology supports company's short and long term business objectives for that technology. Technical leadership includes all aspects of the team's engineering efforts but does not include direct management responsibilities. Typical Deliverables: - High Level Directions documents (Architectural Requirements) for broad collections of technology including a number of Architectures. - High Level Architectural Designs encompassing the basic missions of and relationships between those Architectures. - Alternative approaches to wide problems with corresponding cost estimates - New product ideas/innovations, patent proposals, and recommendations on new and emerging technologies and process improvements. - Presentations for communicating any of the above - Industry conference presentations. Skills Set: Solid skills in multiple programming languages and demonstrated fluency in Object-Oriented technology .Plan, architect, design, analyze, develop, code, test, debug and document J2EE and C++ programming to satisfy business requirements for large, complex projects. Must adhere to architecture standards, mentor less experienced team members, perform code reviews, and lead presentations in architecture review, strategic technology directions, and best practice development Deliver J2EE and C++ technology expertise and innovation to a development team with varying experience and skill profiles. Utilize Batch design patterns, such as scheduling, parallel processing, dependency management, rollback concepts, and alerting Contribute to architectural/design feasibility discussions, prototype development and code reviews. Investigate transforming batch into a message-driven approach Keep abreast with the latest developments in open source technologies; share knowledge with the team and propose adoption of new technology. Write high-quality code and related documentation, perform unit testing Participate on or lead cross-functional development/integration projects requiring interaction with end-users and external technology clients. Assist the team in supporting the application in QA and production environments. Qualifications: Demonstrated fluency in Object-Oriented technology along with an understanding of batch approaches Understanding of and experience with full software development lifecycle including functional and technical specification, documentation, QA processes, source control, maintenance and deployments. Experience with separation of layers between transport, data access (i.e. Hybernate), business logic, and presentation technologies Hands on experience with designing software applications using UML. Strong J2EE, C++ skill set (4 years experience) Specific experience with implementing an Message-Oriented-Middleware (MOM) architecture on JMS a plus Experience with EJBs, JDBC, and Oracle Database Experience with SOAP framework Experience with Web Services and XML Experience with Enterprise Application Integration design patterns Hands on experience with version control and defect tracking systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to mentor others.
