Senior Network Engineer - Routers, Switches

"Required Skills/ Mandatory skills: *Excellent understanding of current networking systems including routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, data circuits, content-aware load-balancers, wireless networking. *Excellent understanding of all IP-based protocols. *Excellent understanding of dynamic routing protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS etc. *Excellent understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching, including MLS, VLAN, STP, trunking and ether-channel. *Extensive operational experience with either or combine : *Enterprise/carrier-class routers and switches *Large scale loadbalancing (DSR and inline SLB and GSLB) across multiple vendors *Network security (ACLs, VPN, L2VPN, IPSEC and GRE) *Familiarity with current two and three tier website architectures, including, load balancing and failover concepts for web servers, application servers, and database servers, including ecommerce and payment processing applications. *Knowledge of Cisco (specifically 6500 switches), Juniper, Foundry, Alteon products. *In-depth knowledge of Layer 4-7 loadbalancing and ssl acceleration *Excellent project, technical, interpersonal, presentation and problem management skills. *Strong written/verbal skills. This should include experience in designing, documenting and writing deliverable plans for enterprise implementations. Visio diagramming and network documentation knowledge required. *Should have a logical and methodical approach to problem solving *Load Balancers (Foundry ServerIron 400/450, Alteon AD4/2424, Netscaler, F5 BigIp, Cisco CSS) *Network Operating Systems (IOS, CatOS, JunOS) *Network Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS,IPsec, 802.1d/p/q/s/w, LACP) *Server Operating Systems and Internet Software (FreeBSD, Linux, Apache) *Traffic Generators (Ixia, Spirent/Smartbits) *Network management (mrtg/rrd, cflow/sflow, snmp) *Sniffers and Protocol Analyzers (tcpdump, ethereal, SnifferPro) *Scripting (Perl, Expect, TCL/tk) *IP Multicast *Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously. The candidate may become the technical lead on short term projects. This will require experience with and a broad understanding of their implementation and coordination. May also include working in a team environment requiring vendor and contractor coordination. *Experience with performing network functionality and security audits. *Strong understanding of security policy, procedures, architecture and standards design. *Strong Unix (Linux, BSD, etc) skills.- optional *High degree of familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts; ability to configure DNS, UNIX and Windows host networking and local and network based user and group accounts and permissions. " "Responsibilities: *Implementing, configuring, supporting and maintaining all aspects of organisation's local and wide-area networking. *Taking individual responsibility for resolving network-related issues reported to the Operations Center (OC) of the Organisation from multiple sources including trouble tickets, phone calls and automated alerts. *Creating and maintaining process and technical documentation for all relevant processes and technologies. *Mentoring and training junior level Network Engineers. *Managing relationships with relevant vendors, network personnel/counter parts in Sunnyvale and other organisational facilities. *Strong engagement with the US and Asiapac based global network engineering team. *Will take initiative to trouble shoot and provide incident reviews once issues are resolved. *Provide support and direction for L4-7 technologies related to production network worldwide. *Maintain a high-level of expertise on current and emerging L4-7 technologies. *Work closely with developers and operations staff to design, plan, implement, and validate solutions.
