Job Requirements : 1. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 2.. Minimum of 5 years of IT Experience with atleat two years experience in database admininstration on Sybase ASE. 3. Unix experience with the ability to develop UNIX shell scripts in support of DBA duties. 4. Technical knowledge of relational database management systems, systems including DBMS configuration, data modeling principles, database design and database access. 5. Ability to create and maintain Entity Relationship Diagrams and the ability to understand Data and Process Flow Diagrams. 6. Ability to work within a framework of standards: Database Architecture, Data Administration, and System Development. 7. Extensive T-SQL or SQL coding experience with ability to write Storeprocs, triggers and and extensive tuning/ troubleshooting knowledge of SQL code. 8. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 9. Strong communication and interpersonnel skills. Skills Desired: 1. Familiarity with other DBMS technologies like SQL Server , Sybase IQ, Sybase Replication Server. 2. Sybase PowerDesigner / DataArchitect / ProcessAnalyst / MetaWorks / ERWin. 3. Windows 2000/XP, Solaris, and AIX UNIX 4. DBA admin tools like dbxray, DBartisan, and Rapid-sql Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting Sybase database servers. 3-5 Years Sybase DB experience, degree required.
